YA-PAO THE ANCIENT THAI DETOX

Ya-Pao is a traditional detoxification therapy used for centuries in Thailand. According to the practitioners who prescribe it, it’s also a great way to alleviate long COVID symptoms such as inflammations and coughs. Ya-Pao works by balancing the wind, water, and fire elements in the body.  In Ya-Pao ritual, a herbal paste is placed on guest’s stomach and then lit on fire by an experienced practitioner to help detoxify respiratory systems. The mound of herbs is also gently wrapped with a cooling towel to protect the rest of the body. The heat from the treatment is hence intended to help remove excess water elements such as phlegm and mucus.  After the Ya-Pao treatment, the doctor will prepare a herbal steam room for the guest to make it even easier to remove phlegm, mucus and encourage total body detoxification. Ya-Pao is just one of the treatments offered as part of the new COVID-19 Health Rejuvenating program at RAKxa, a medical spa resort just outside Bangkok with jungle-s...
