Ideally, it should overflow towards the east or north, symbolizing prosperity, abundance, and positivity flowing into the household. Boiling milk on puja or worship day brings prosperity to the house. The lady of the house must boil the milk in the new house's kitchen, that too in a new utensil. Then, in this boiling milk, rice is added to prepare sweet rice prasad, offered during the pooja rituals and distributed among everyone.
