Hibiscus tea is a herbal tea made as an infusion from crimson or deep magenta-colored calyces of the roselle flower. It's an anti-inflammatory, which can keep cortisol (the stress hormone) away from you. Keeping you relaxed and calm.

Loaded with nutrients, stuffed with antioxidants, and here to help you deal with everything from hypertension to reducing heart disease risks, weight loss, and complete immune system health. 

It is consumed both hot and cold. It has a tart, cranberry like flavor. Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is a species of flowering plant in the genus Hibiscus that is native to Africa, most likely West Africa.

  • Remove the hibiscus and enjoy the tea with honey and lemon juice

Historically, hibiscus tea has been used in African countries to decrease body temperature, treat heart disease, and sooth a sore throat.

In Iran, hibiscus tea is used to treat high blood pressure. Recent studies have also looked at the possible role of hibiscus in the treatment of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. 

Hibiscus is considered safe when consumed in moderate amounts in tea (2 to 4 cups per day) and foods. 

Since hibiscus tea does not have caffeine and has potential health benefits, it's often a beverage of choice for tea drinkers in the evening hours before going to bed. 

Known for being a soothing and relaxing beverage, it's versatile and can be enjoyed hot or chilled, not above 40 degrees.

CAUTION

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not drink hibiscus tea. Several studies show the potential of hibiscus tea to promote weight loss and prevent obesity. One study showed that hibiscus extract reduced body weight, body fat, and body mass index after 12 weeks.
