One of the primary benefits of hibiscus for skin is that it is rich in Vitamin A. Vitamin A is anti-inflammatory when applied to the skin and can help reduce any redness or soreness. At the same time, hibiscus acids promote production of a protein that boosts cell regeneration, speeding healing along.
Hibiscus contains phenolic compounds that, by scavenging free radicals, protect the skin from environmental damage. Furthermore, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) in hibiscus exfoliate the skin, making it an excellent choice for a face pack. In addition, it improves skin texture and reduces blackheads and hyperpigmentation. You can use hibiscus as tea, lip balm, mask, toner, body scrubs, or moisturizers.
